Qingxiao and Buling: the Master title
Buling uses an honorific. English flattened it to "Master."
Her character story already held the scene. She threw a tournament match against Jianxin. A white-robed woman sat nearby with a guqin and asked why she held back. That woman is Qingxiao. Buling's real teacher later asked Qingxiao to train the girl. The 3.6 showcase animates that stretch: Buling loses face, Qingxiao stays detached.
At the end Buling asks if she is the legendary Sword Transcendent who roams heaven. Qingxiao says no. She has cultivated a long time and reached a high realm. The immortal label is what other people use.
